My Weekend

Weekends were made for fun and I thought I would start sharing clips of my weekend with you! I always rave about Sushi Den but it really is an AMAZING spot in Wash Park! Everything is good on the menu so its hard to choose, but definitely order the suijin sake, sriracha-garlic shrimp, kobe beef roll, and banana pie! It’s funny other than the yellow tail jalapeno sashimi, I rarely order any raw sushi when dining there.
LoHi is a cute and upcoming area in Denver that on any given weekend the streets are flooded with people walking, shopping, dining, and eating Little Man Ice Cream! There was a line of people around the corner I couldn’t believe how people flock and wait in these lines for this ice cream. So, of course I had to see what all they hype was about and I was pleasantly pleased! I ordered the salted oreo and OH MY! Seriously, it should be illegal its that good. I learned a little more while waiting in line that they give most of their proceeds locally to charities and help fund community events in the area but the BIG one is they have a global program called Scoop for Scoop. They share one scoop of rice for every scoop of ice cream sold to Ethiopia and Myanmar. Just in 2008 alone, Little Man was able to hand deliver 5,000 pounds of rice to their villages. If your in Denver check it out, its all homemade batches of ice cream and gelato.
A last minute decision stemmed into a drive to Black Hawk, CO where the mountains have gambling to offer. Its literally a casino stuck in the side of a mountain but for those who enjoy to gamble, entertainment awaits you. On the drive there you can see in the picture below that there were wild buffalo just grazing on the side of the road. I thought it was pretty cool, its not like you see that everyday. After, arriving at Ameristar Casino we all gambled a little and my girlfriend won a whole $20.00…Don’t spend it all in one place! HA! Well, that concludes most of my weekend and I hope you had a great weekend!
