Want Perfect Skin

Want perfect skin? Everyone has heard before, “You better wear sunscreen!” Well, I wish I would of listened when I was a kid because now I’m working hard on reversing the sun damage I’ve caused to myself through the years! I wasn’t one of the lucky ones blessed with beautiful olive skin, instead I have fair skin and freckles. I use to hate my skin color and wanted to bake in the sun for hours to have a sun-kissed look. Now that I’m a little wiser I get my tanned look by spray tanning! It’s clearly a better choice than the alternatives. With that being said I want to age gracefully as possible, so I’ve learned the importance of sunscreen in my daily facial regimen. The packet you see below is a sample from a Med Spa I was at recently, but you can do research on finding a sunscreen that suits you. Apparently, there is a true argument amongst dermatologist on wether you apply sunscreen before or after your moisturizer. At this point I’m going to have to say just adding it period is doing more justice then not, but I like to add mine before my moisturizer. I feel mentally it has a better effect since its in direct contact with my skin. Use a sunscreen that’s safe and comfortable for your face. While the consistency of sunscreen is important in a facial product, its also wise to look for one that won’t clog your pores. Apply all over face, in hairline, temples, ears and the front and back of your neck. Then you can apply moisturizer along with your foundation and complete with your following steps. I like to use an all over sunscreen then apply a tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 by Laura Mercier on days I want lighter makeup (now I have double the SPF). Some of my other products contain SPF as well which just ensures that you have great coverage. Better be safe then sorry and start incorporating sunscreen now or you will be spending thousands on photo-facials and peels in the future to get smooth looking skin without age and sun spots!
Note: Let’s not forget about the C word “CANCER”…PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST SKIN CANCER!

Blue Eyes

Colored mascara is making a strong come back ever since NY Fashion Week. The Runway Models were rocking the fun look and its now the fall 2012 trend! I couldn’t wait to purchase the blue but I’m still wanting the purple and the burgundy. Just make sure when wearing it you achieve a flawless face and well groomed brows. You want a very natural looking face so that all the attention is focused on the eyes and the eyes pop! YSL, Estee Lauder, Christian Dior are just a few of the brands that carry the colored mascaras. I went with the Christian Dior Mascara “Azure Blue” and the Urban Decay eye liner “Deviant” to get the look I was gunning for. FYI.. I also put my eye liner on the inside of my top eye lid (I feel it really adds more depth). You can choose not to use eye liner but I feel with my skin tones it popped more with the eye liner. ๐Ÿ™‚
Note: If these brands are not in your budget you can also buy a drugstore clear mascara and a super pigmented eye shadow (color of your choice and crush to powder form), roll the wand in the eye shadow and apply to your eyes!

New Facial Regimen

After, running out of Lamer facial cream and my face wash, I decided to venture out and try something new. Lamer is great but price wise its super expensive and I figured there must be something out there comparable in product vs. price. Being in Colorado its extremely dry so I need something semi-heavy, which the Lamer was helping out in getting the job done. Honestly, my skin was freaking out coming from Florida where I had tons of humidity and now here in Colorado there is NO humidity. It’s dry people! I’m now trying this face cleanser by Perricone MD which I use morning and evening and so far so good. It’s light yummy scent makes me want to bathe in it. It’s a gentle cleanser if you have sensitive skin I recommend it. It’s part of there anti-aging line (I would like to age gracefully), with antioxidants, olive oil, and polyphenols and not to expensive at $35.00.
As far as the facial cream, I am currently using the Clarins line. It’s the HydraQuench Rich Cream thats for dry skin or cold climates. It has hyaluronic acid which helps with long lasting hydration and maintains your skins moisture levels. Again, not very expensive at $49.00 compared to the $350 for Lamer.
If your in the market for new facial products, I’m definitely a fan of these two so far! ๐Ÿ™‚

LCN Polish Seal

Ok, so this product has had a lot of hype lately and I hope it lives up to everything it says it is! After, seeing it on the Today show and hearing that this polish seal keeps your nails from chipping for two weeks, I was on board! Going to the nail salon, getting shellac and gelish can get costly and if you look at sephora they sale no chip kits for $150. So, when I saw this LCN polish seal was only $22 my interest was sparked. All you need is the clear coat polish seal and a 60w light bulb in your home. Yep, supposedly you apply the polish seal and hold your fingers under a 60w light bulb for 3 minutes each and your polish will not chip for two weeks. I guess I will know soon enough since I just ordered mine! Seeing is believing. ๐Ÿ™‚
Below was an insert from LCN website about their product …
The perfect protection for every nail polish! Polish Seal is a UV curing top coat that can be easily removed with LCNโ€™s acetone free removers. Polish Seal provides the nail polish with long-lasting protection and a high-gloss and scratch resistant surface. Suitable for both natural and artificial nails. Polish Seal hardens in just 3 minutes in a UV lamp or under a minimum 60 watt light bulb!

Whiter Teeth

T.O.D. (Tip of the Day)- Want whiter teeth? Two inexpensive ingredients hydrogen peroxide and baking soda! You can brush your teeth once a day with baking soda. It is an ingredient found in many toothpaste and it helps clean the teeth. It’s a little messy and gritty but it works and rinse with hydrogen peroxide. Make sure you purchase a hydrogen peroxide that has 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Hydrogen peroxide is useful as a mouthwash due to its antiseptic properties. If you notice almost every effective whitening kit list peroxide as its active ingredient. Rinse in mouth for at least 30 seconds once a day. It will foam in mouth and the foam kills bacteria and helps fight gum disease. Afterwards, flush your mouth again with water! These two simple steps will help with your overall mouth hygiene and help whiten your teeth. ๐Ÿ™‚
Note: If you don’t like the taste in your mouth after the above steps, rinse with a listerine or mouthwash of choice to kill the taste in your mouth.
