Flush Fat

I caught the tale end of Dr. Oz the other day and Kim Lyons (celebrity trainer) was talking about her ultimate 10-day diet plan to lose weight. Needless, to say it caught my attention and this was one of her interesting tips below…
I will be posting a few other of her diet tips to follow as I try them! To make combine 1 slice of grapefruit, 1 tangerine, 1/2 cucumber, 2 peppermint leaves and ice. The grapefruit and tangerine burn fat. The cucumbers help you stay full. The peppermint calms your stomach and is refreshing. Drink as much as flush water as you want, but you must have three 8oz glasses before meals for at least 10 days. 🙂 Enjoy!
My supermarket did not have peppermint leaves so I substituted mint leaves. I also added a whole grapefruit, its not going to hurt and I used some of my left over ice cubes with blueberries and lemon. Why not? It’s going to add to the flavor and taste great!

Egg whites & Tomatoes

I don’t know about you but not eating breakfast makes me grumpy and fatigued. So, I’m kicking off my monday with a healthy breakfast! I went back to the gym yesterday and feeling motivated 🙂 which is why I’m eating egg whites & tomatoes for more energy. A healthy breakfast can provide you with the nutrients you need to stay energized for a few hours! I’m definitely not a poster child for healthy but I try and do my best when I can. So, I made whole wheat toast with egg whites, topped with an heirloom sliced tomato & drizzled a little tomatillo green medium salsa on top and served with a side of grapefruit. Simple, yet filling plus you get protein from the egg whites.

Healthy Breakfast

It’s sometimes difficult to stay on the healthy path but I kicked this morning off with a healthy breakfast! I had a piece of lightly toasted whole wheat toast (dry), topped with 2 sliced hard boiled egg whites (optional to leave the hard yolk), and grapefruit. It may look bland and boring but it was actually pretty good. 🙂 If you wanted some extra flavor you could add a little jam or preserves.
