Art Festival

I attended the annual Cherry Creek Art Festival yesterday and took a few photos of some of the talents pieces on display. The event is a world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts, and enjoys an attendance of 350,00 visitors over the 3-day event!

Chalk Drawings

Denver has its annual Chalk Art Festival every year that showcases artist talents. It’s produced by the Larimer Arts Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting arts awareness and education in Denver. I stopped downtown to walk amongst all the incredible drawings which are truly amazing. It’s so wild how they turn a boring piece of pavement into a work of art with chalk. Avid street painters will tell you, this is performance art, where the process of creating the work is more important than the finished piece. Well, I’m no Picasso but I must say it was entertaining! I’m in Denver but I’m pretty sure that every city has a Canvas and Cocktails concept. If you are ever looking for something to do out of the norm of your regular weekly activities it is worth experiencing. My girlfriend and I went online and chose a painting we would like to paint (one we agreed upon :)) It takes a couple hours of your time but definitely fun and the painting is yours to hang in your house or put in your garden to scare the birds away ….JK! It’s fun to go alone or with a few girlfriends on an afternoon plus they serve you cocktails. What’s better than that? Here is a link to the one I attended:
